Visiting Jawaharal Nehru Planetarium in Bangalore



Jawaharlal Nehru planetarium was built in the year 1989.
This is located in front of Indira Gandhi musical fountain. The theater in the
planetarium has a sitting capacity of 225. There are two to three shows daily
on local language and on English languages. This is a great attraction for
children and people loving science and astronomy. There is a science park
developed around the planetarium in the same campus which contains many
interesting items demonstrating various scientific facts and theories in a
playful manner. 

Maa in Satya Anjaneya Swami Temple Bangalore



Satya Anjenaya Wwami temple is a beautiful Hanuman temple on
Nandidurg road. This is close to our residence in Bangalore and Maa visits this
temple regularly whenever she stays in Bangalore. I use to take her to the
temple in the morning. There is also a Venkata Ramana temple, a Ganesh temple,
Navagraha temple and other temples in Anjaneya temple. You can get free Prasad
there during special celebrations. You can see maa getting free Prasad in the
temple. It is a popular temple and has great religious meaning for the local
people. 

Wonderful Views of Lumbini Park in Bangalore





Lumbini Park is a recent venture in
2006 which gives complete makeover to the old existing Nagavara Lake located on
the north side of Bangalore city. Boating is one of the main attractions in the
place. As the lake is very huge, boating becomes really enjoying. Besides there
are many other games and rides. One has to buy tickets (around Rs 30/-) in
order to enter inside the park area. Those who want to enjoy games and rides
have to buy separate tickets (around Rs 150/-) for those. There are many
chairs, tables and food courts available at the lakeside for the comfort of the
visitors. Many people place order for food to celebrate birthdays,
anniversaries etc. at this place. 

Visiting Ulsoor Lake in Bangalore



Ulsoor lake is one of the largest
and oldest lake of Bangalore. It is centally located in the heart of the city
covering an area of about 1.5 square kilometers. There are a few small islands
inside the lake which look very attractive. These islands are full of large
trees which shelter to thousands of birds. Bird watching is very interesting
here during morning and evening. There is a boating club near the lake. Boating
is one of the major attractions for the visitors. There are many man made water
fountains inside the lake which sprinkle water very beautifully. A small part
of the lake is recently separated by boundaries for the purpose of water
cleaning and visharjan of Ganesh idols. There is a tank near the lake which was
used furing the second world war. On the other side of the lake there is
Vivekananda park with a statue of swami Vivekananda inside. This video was shot

Celebration of Saint Marry’s Feast in Bangalore



St. Mary's feast is celebrated as a grand event in
Bangalore. Thousands and thousands of people gather in St. Mary's Basilica in
Shivaji Nagar. The queue becomes several hunred meters long and going into
church takes hours. You can see the crowd and church views in this video.
The main attraction of the celebration is the chariot. A
decorated chariot with Mother Mary on top is pulled from St. Mary's Basilica.
The movement of the chariot with large number of prists in the front becomes a
spectacular event. The band party and devotional songs makes the environment
very attractive. Thousands of people participate in this great event every
year.


After the chariot was pulled away from the church we went
with the chariot for a distance then came back to the church. We had a blissful
darshan of Lord Jesus and Mother Mary in the Church. There was heavy crowd in
the church too. This is one of the two most important festivals in this church,
the other being the Christmas.

The beautiful Sankey Tank in Bangalore



Sankey tank is a man made lake in Bangalore wich covers an area of about 37 acres. Bangalore Mahanagar Palike has converted it to a lake. We have visited this place several times. Many local people come here regularly for walking purposes. Besides some do yoga and meditation. There is a small childrens park too. During Ganesh puja, the ganesh idols are thrown in this water. This video was shot during the year 2009.


Star City Video Games Center- Revised



Star City is located next to Fun World in the palace grounds of Bangalore. This has a beautiful video games parlor. There are many different video games to attract every kind of children. You can buy coins in the counter and use those coins to play whichever games you like. There is a bowling club behind the video games center. The video was shot in the year 2009.


Experience of Bowling in Star City Bangalore- Revised



Star City bowling club is located next to Fun World in the palace grounds of Bangalore. This is a beautiful place to play bowling. We have played bowling many times there. It was always great entertainment playing there. You have to use special shoes provided by them before playing the game. The results are automatically displayed on computer screen. Gaming fees are more in weekends than in weekdays.


Performances in Chowdiah Memorial Hall Bangalore



Chowdiah Memorial hall located in the Malleswaram area of Bangalore. It is a popular auditorium and a cultural center which provides a home for cultural and theatrical performances. There are regular events of musical and theatrical performances in Chowdiah Memorial hall. We happened to visit there in the occasion of ladli media awards for gender sensitivity.

After the inauguration of the function and welcome address by Mr. Bobby Sista, there was a beautiful music performance by the students of Pandit Puttaraj Gawai Trust for disabled. Various awards were presented to emminent personalities who had distictive contributions towards women and gender sensitivity. Awardees include people working in media, advocacy, grass root level workers, art and movies etc. A series of marvelous dance performances were presented by Mrs. Padmaja Suresh. It was a great event to visit in Chowdiah Memorial Hall.


Tippu Sultan's beautiful Palace in Bangalore- Revised



Tipu’s palace in Bangalore city was built by Tipu Sultan about 200 year ago in 1790. This is a two storied building with wooden pillars and arches. This palace is currently maintained by the archeological department. Entry to the palace is allowed to the general public for a nominal fee. There is a beautiful garden around the palace. A small temple of Venkatraman Swamy is located next to the palace.


Views of Bangalore High Court before construction of Namma Metro



The high court building was constructed in 1864 under the rules of Tipu sultan. This is a two storied building. The building was used for accommodating various government departments for about 100 years until 1956. After 1956 the offices were transferred to Vidhan soudha and this building was used as the high court of Karnataka. This video was taken in 2009. This viedeo shows the views of High Court before construction of Namma Metro tracks. Now the road views are changed after construction Namma Metro.


Views of Vidhan Soudh before construction of Bangalore Metro



Vidhan soudh is the most elegant bulding of Bangalore which is used as the legislative assembly house of the state of Karnataka. It was constructed in 1956 after the ruling power was transferred from the Wadeyar dynasty to the central government. Although there is no entry for the general public into the Vidhan Soudha it is still an attraction for the public even from outside. Many movies are shot in the gardens in front of Vidhan Soudh. This video shows the views of Vidhan soudha in 2009 before the construction of Namma Metro tracks.
