Big shiva temple is located near old airport of Bangalore. It remains open day and night 24 hours. 10 years ago photography was not allowed, but now photography is allowed after paying for the the tickets. Basic entrance is free but special visits, pooja, abhisek etc. are all priced.
The first part shows the entrance to the temple, beautiful shops on both sides of the entrance, dodda ganapati statue (dodda means big in Kannada language), bobby doing milk abhisek on lord shiva, the big shiva statue, jyotirlinga yatra etc.
After visiting dodda ganapati statue we visited pahadi shiva darshan, amarnath, kedarnath etc. and then went towards the big shiva statue. You can see the size of the statue comparing human size near the foot of the staue. Bobby took a paap nashini diya (sin destroying lamp) and floated on the water there. I took ghee and wood (for a price) and put inside the havan kund. then aarati started. hundreds of people started aarati together with lamps in hand. Very spectacular view and spiritual experience.
This is the last part of the video. After visiting pahadi shiva and jyotirling we went to navagraha temple. You can see me holding the lamp and moving around the navagraha statues. After that I tied up a sacred thread on a tree. Then I put 108 coins in 108 pots chanting the mantra “om namah shivaya”. The background songs in video were live songs and musing played by people there in the temple.
