Horanadu is 8 kms from Kalasa and 70 kms from Sringeri. Horanadu is famous for Annapoorneswari temple. The temple trust has many large buildings to provide accommodation to the visitors. We also stayed in a temple guest house.
One of the attractions of Horanadu is free Prasad distribution. Everyday thousands of devotees are given breakfast, lunch and dinner free of cost. Thus poor people not having money can also visit the place without difficulties.
We visited the temple and had darshan of Goddess Annapoorneswari. We also saw the arati at the night at the closing time of the temple. Besides the main temple there is Hanuman temple, Amruteshwar temple and other small temples which we visited in and around Horanadu.
