Kalasa is about 8 kms from Horanadu and about 20 kms from Kudremukh. It is surrounded by Bhadra River and Dugapannakatte hills. Kalsa is famous for Kalaseswar Temple. The temple is located at the base of the hill.
Kalaseswar is another name of lord Shiva. Lord Shiva is worshiped here in the form of Linga. Like many other south Indian temple, here the male devotees have to remove their shirts and banyans before entering into the main temple.
We took some ladu Prasad here. The laddus were tasty and cheap. We also carried some more laddus to eat on the way. We had a long way to go. We left the temple and proceeded towards Kemangundi. Visiting Kalsa temple was a great experience.
