Boating from Mumbai to Elephanta (2007)

From Gateway of India we took a boat for Elephanta caves. Shankar could not go with us as he had other works. Unexpectedly I discovered my close friend Ramesh and his family in the boat. They were also going to Elephanta caves. The journey to Elephanta was really enjoyable.
Elephanta is a small island about 10 kms in the Arabian sea. After getting down from the boat one has to take a toy train or go by walk for about 300 mtrs to the cave. There are many caves and ancient sculptures.
During return journey we paid some extra to sit on the roof of the boat. We could see hundreds of eagles flying near the boat. The boatman was throwing grains to attract the eagles. That scenery was quite interesting.
