Manjirabad Fort is about 6 kms from Sakaleshpur by the side
of National Highway-48 connecting Bangalore and Mangalore. The fort is built on
a small hill. You can park your vehicle by the side of national highway and
climb about half km. on the hill to reach Manjirabad fort. The fort is located
at an altitude of about 3240 feet above the sea level. As per history, the fort
was built by Tipu Sultan. The fort was built using mud and stone. There are
many cannon mouths and musket holes in the fort which makes it very attractive
for the tourists. The entrance to the fort is very interesting. There is one
outer entrance gate and one inner entrance gate and the path in-between is
twisted. The design is made strategically to keep it safe and difficult for the
enemies to enter. Although mom was with us she could not climb the hill. She preferred
to sit in the car. It was also raining a little bit (rainy season) and we could
not enjoy much in the fort.

Our next destination was Dharmasthala. We had to proceed
through the western ghat mountain. There are many waterfalls on the way. I have
shown two waterfalls in the video which we saw on Shiradi ghat on western ghat
mountains. The waterfalls are on the roadside and quite visible while going on
National Highway.
