Matheran is a hill station in Maharastra about 100 kms from Mumbai. It is situated about 800 meters above sea level on Sahayadri hills. From Mumbai we went Neral by a local train. From Neral we went upto the hill by a shared taxi. Motor vehicles are banned on top of the hill. One has to either take a horse or go by walk.
There are more than a dozen interesting points on top of the hill. We first went to the panorama point, then Nigam’s point, heart point, Monkey point, Sunset point, Paymaster park and finally echo point. We were pretty tired by walking and walking. However the day was interesting and adventurous.
