Trekking to the famous Kedarnath temple (2007)

Kedarnath is considered as one of the 12 Jyotirlingas. Kedarnath is at an altitude of 3585 meters above sea level. The temple is closed for 6 months during winter and opened for 6 months during summer. We visited the famous kedarnath temple and also participated in evening aarati. Besides we visited shankaracharya temple (behind kedarnath temple), bhaironath temple (on a hill by the side of kedarnath temple) and other places nearby. The place was extremely beautiful with snowy mountain views. Next morning we started our trekking at 7 o’clock and reached Gourikunda by 11 o’clock. Climbing down was faster than climbing up. This was an unforgettable memory..
