Lalbagh Tour (Part3/3)

Lalbagh botanical garden is having more than two thousand species of herbs and plants spread over 240 acres of land at the heart of the city. It is so big that half day is not enough to cover all the important points in the garden. You need to visit more than once to see Lalbagh properly.

There are three parts of this video depicting various important parts of Lalbagh Botanical Garden, including the Kempegowda tower, Japanese garden, band stand, fossil tree, glass house, botanical garden, Lalbagh Lake, floral clock, statues and fountains etc. You can see huge spectacular monkeys, hundred years old trees and other attractions in the garden. I liked to see the rubber trees and the three hundred years old banyan tree.

Karnaprayag Local Views (2/2)

We also visited the famous Umadevi temple in Karna prayaga. The design of Umadevi temple is very different from other temples. One has to climb more than hundred steps to reach Umadevi temple on the hill. It was a fantastic experience. We also visited Adibadri from Karnaprayag which you can see in a separate video.

Thank you for reading my blog. Hope you enjoyed the video. Please view my other videos at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCI0LpxPhq16oCp-qAEdQh1g and subscribe to my Youtube channel.

Trekking to Charan Paduka (Part1 of 2)

After visiting Bamani Village we climbed further to go to Charana Paduka. We first went to Barphani Baba ashram. My mom (85 years) could not climb further. She took rest there in the ashram. Leaving her in Ashram we climbed up to see Charana Paduka. The saints in the ashram were very kind and treated her well.

We climbed steep upto Hanuman Gupha. Hanuman Gupha is a Natural cave on the mountain which was painted in red color. Then we took a turn to go towards Charana Paduka. The journey was really thrilling, as you can see in the video. Charana Paduka is the foot print of lord Badrinath on a large stone on the hills. As per the legend the footprints were made when Lord Badrinath came from Tholing Math to Badrikashram. The footprints are located on the mountains at an altitude of 3300 meters above sea level.

While climbing to Charan Paduka we could see the views of Badrinath township from the mountain, which was looking very attractive. The place was full of clouds and the visibility was very less. It was not possible to view anything beyond a few meters.

Visiting Adibadri Temple on Himalayas

Adibadri is one of the five famous Badris (panchabadri). Adibadri is about 16 kms from Karnaprayag. We went by a shared taxi which dropped us near the bus stop. Then we walked about a kilometer to reach adibadri temple. We saw a number of small to medium temples in the temple complex. there were temples of Narayana, Shiva, Kaali, Ganesh and other gods and godesses. The temple is maintained by the archeological survey of India. We did not get any transport to return back to Karnapraya in the evening and paid huge amount to a taxi to drop us back to our hotel in Karnaprayag.

Karnaprayag Local Views (1/2)

After 30 hours of painful journey from Badrinath finally we could reach Karna Prayag. Karnaprayaga is named after the great warior Karna of Mahabharata. This place is famous for the confluence of two sacred rivers Alakananda and Pidaraganga. We took a holy bath in the Sangam place. My mother was very happy to bath in all sacred places.

Experience of Land Sliding on Badrinath Road (2/2)

The himalayan roads are always unpredictable because of earth quakes and land sliding. There are many buldozers on the road to clean up road on emergency service. However sometimes the situation becomes even worse. While returning from Badrinath the road was badly broken near Helang. You can see how the buldozer was pushing huge bolders from the road. But the road was blocked again and again by land sliding. We could go upto Garuda ganga but no road thereafter. People were waiting on the road since 4 days. We had to spend night on a open place inside a shop alongwith many other people. Next morning we carried all our luggage and walked for 5 kilometers to reach where the road was broken. We had to climb the rocks by the side of the bulldozer in order to go to the other side. Finally on the other side we got a taxi upto Chamoli.

From Pandukeswar we got a jeep to Gobindaghat. Gobindaghat is about 4 kms from Pandukeswar. Gobindaghat is a famous religious place for Sikhs. From here people start trekking for Hemakunda Sahib and Valley of flowers. We took a walk from the bus stop to the Gurudwara. We visited the gurudwar and took free food (langar) in the gurudwara. There was also accommodation arrangements. But we preferred coming back to Badrinath as we had our luggage and room in Badrinath.

Yogabadri is one of the Five famous Badris (Pancha Badri) on Himalayas. The temple is about 20 kms from Badrinath in a place called Pandukeswar. One has to climb down from the main road through the village to reach the temple. There are two temples, one Yogabadri temple another Pandukeswar temple. My mom (85 years) was very happy to visit those sacred places. As per the legend King Pandu (of Mahabharat) did tapasya here. The temples are interesting with mountain views behind. Badrinath Temple Tour (Part2 of 2)

The temple of Lord Badrinath was about 1 kms from Bangar Dharmashala where we were staying. It was easy to take a walk to the temple in 15 minutes. River Alakananda was flowing in front of the temple. We took bath in the Taptakund (hot spring) near the temple. Taptakund was just by the side of the river.

It was a great feeling to visit the famous Badrinath temple. My mom (85 years) got a special permission to visit very close to the lord and touch in her hands. She was very happy to have this rare opportunity. We also visited bamani village, charana paduka, Mana village, Pandukeswar, Gobind Ghat etc. which are on separate videos.

Journey from Joshimath to Badrinath

Next morning we were ready to go from Joshimath to Badrinath. But we came to know that there was no bus going to Badrinath since two days because of land sliding. After waiting for a long time we finally got a taxi to go to Badrinath.
The road to Badrinath is a national highway, well built. But the road often remains blocked because of land sliding. The views of Joshimath Badrinath road was really mesmerizing. While going to Badrinath we passed by Pandukeswar and Gobindghat on the way. The river Alakananda was flowing by the side of Badrinath road. River Alakananda meets with river Bhagirathi at Devaprayag and is named as river Ganga thereafter.

Himalayan Journey to Joshimath

From Gourikund we took a bus to return back to Rudraprayag. Next morning we left Rudraprayag for Joshimath. The journey started smoothly. But we had to stop on the way as the road was blocked by land sliding. Hundreds of vehicles were waiting on the road including our bus. We had to wait for about 2 hours. Then the bus moved for a little and stopped again for one hour. It was very hectic journey with a painful delay of 3 hours on the way.

Finally we reached Joshimath at 4 PM. All of us were extremely tired. We took a room in a hotel near the bus stand and lied down for rest. Joshimath is 110 kms from Rudraprayag and 274 kms from Haridwar. The township is built on Himalayas at a height of 1900 meters above the sea level. The beauty of Joshimath cannot be described in words. I will show you the important tourist points of Joshimath in next video.
