From Gourikund we took a bus to return back to Rudraprayag. Next morning we left Rudraprayag for Joshimath. The journey started smoothly. But we had to stop on the way as the road was blocked by land sliding. Hundreds of vehicles were waiting on the road including our bus. We had to wait for about 2 hours. Then the bus moved for a little and stopped again for one hour. It was very hectic journey with a painful delay of 3 hours on the way.
Finally we reached Joshimath at 4 PM. All of us were extremely tired. We took a room in a hotel near the bus stand and lied down for rest. Joshimath is 110 kms from Rudraprayag and 274 kms from Haridwar. The township is built on Himalayas at a height of 1900 meters above the sea level. The beauty of Joshimath cannot be described in words. I will show you the important tourist points of Joshimath in next video.
