Gomukh is about 18 kms from Gangotri. We started our trekking from Gangotri in the morning and reached bhojbasa in the afternoon. We stayed in Lalbaba ashram near Bhojbasa and next morning we visited Gomukh glacier, the place where Ganga flows- the birth place of Ganga. It is one of the most sacred places in Hindu religious belief. The place was ice cold with lots of solid ice floating on the river. The views of high Himalayan Mountains were breathtaking. This is a series of still photos taken at different places during our Gomukh trip in 2007.
