Next morning we were ready to go from Joshimath to Badrinath. But we came to know that there was no bus going to Badrinath since two days because of land sliding. After waiting for a long time we finally got a taxi to go to Badrinath.
The road to Badrinath is a national highway, well built. But the road often remains blocked because of land sliding. The views of Joshimath Badrinath road was really mesmerizing. While going to Badrinath we passed by Pandukeswar and Gobindghat on the way. The river Alakananda was flowing by the side of Badrinath road. River Alakananda meets with river Bhagirathi at Devaprayag and is named as river Ganga thereafter.
Badrinath is about 322 from haridwar and 50 kms from Joshimath. The place is high on Himalayas about 3110 meters above see level. Full of ice in the winter. The temple and shops open only in summer and everything close during winter because of ice cold temperature.
