The himalayan roads are always unpredictable because of earth quakes and land sliding. There are many buldozers on the road to clean up road on emergency service. However sometimes the situation becomes even worse. While returning from Badrinath the road was badly broken near Helang. You can see how the buldozer was pushing huge bolders from the road. But the road was blocked again and again by land sliding. We could go upto Garuda ganga but no road thereafter. People were waiting on the road since 4 days. We had to spend night on a open place inside a shop alongwith many other people. Next morning we carried all our luggage and walked for 5 kilometers to reach where the road was broken. We had to climb the rocks by the side of the bulldozer in order to go to the other side. Finally on the other side we got a taxi upto Chamoli.
